From local to global
In a globalized world, people and places strive to assert their identity. International brands are now embracing the local by collaborating with smaller businesses to showcase culture, highlight local talent, and compete in a challenging market.
Current shoppers seek experiences that tap into their emotions. Technological disruption has provided retailers with a wealth of innovative solutions and new models to put into practice throughout the purchase process.
More and more consumers are considering the environmental impact of their purchases. Retailers need to think end-to-end about their product lifecycles and supply chains, replacing existing models for circular, sustainable ones.
Direct-to-consumer brands are booming, with the majority of successes producing and distributing their own physical goods. Marketed to newer generations in particular, this is the leading new business model for reaching younger customers.
